The Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA) has released a report detailing the human and material losses caused by recent heavy rains and flash floods in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

According to the PDMA spokesperson, 377 people have lost their lives in various incidents so far, while 182 others sustained injuries. Among the deceased were 294 men, 50 women, and 33 children, whereas the injured included 145 men, 27 women, and 10 children.

The report stated that 1,377 houses were damaged due to rains and floods, with 1,022 partially damaged and 355 completely destroyed.

Buner emerged as the worst-affected district, where 228 people lost their lives. Other affected districts include Swat, Bajaur, Mansehra, Shangla, Lower Dir, Battagram, and Swabi.

The spokesperson added that district administrations have been instructed to expedite relief operations and provide immediate assistance to the affected families.

PDMA further stated that the Emergency Operations Center is fully functional, and the public can contact the helpline at 1700 for any information regarding adverse weather conditions or emergencies
