GHALLANAI, October 15: A volunteer of the peace committee has died in an attack on a checkpost in Mohmand Agency.
Administration officials say the armed men attacked a checkpost Kandaro checkpost in Safi tehsil last night.
Members of peace committees have been on the hit-list of militants since their formation. The government has formed peace committees in various parts of FATA region and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa to fight militants with the support of local people.
Militant commander, bomber killed in Hangu
In separate incident in Hangu, a commander of militants and a suicide bomber have been killed in an encounter with security forces.
Security officials say the militants faced the security forces in Doaba area where both parties exchanged firing. During action, bombs and an explosives-packed jacket of a bomber exploded, leaving both of them dead.
