PESHAWAR, July 11: The federal government has decided to pay pensions to the retired government employees through automated teller machines (ATMs).
The Minister of Finance, Mr Ishaq Dar, said the decision was taken at a meeting to relieve the retired employees of the wait in long queues.
He said smart cards would be provided to the pensioners within two weeks to enable them to use ATMs.
The meeting also decided that the people who retired after July 2014 would be paid their pension through their salaries bank accounts.
