BATTAGRAM, May 27: Residents of Takri area in Battagram district have started reconstructing a road on self-help basis.
Local residents say condition of the road of Kass Bridge, Lower Banda area is poor for last three years, causing a host of problems for local people, particularly patients.
They say they have asked the elected lawmakers from the area and the Communication and Works Department that is responsible for the job, but to no avail.
Finally local people decided to start work on renovation of the road themselves. A local resident, working on the road construction, told TNN, “The condition of the road was terrible as travel of 10 to 15 minutes took hours on this route. We are working to renovate it for the last three days. We want the administration to learn a lesson from our work.”
