PESHAWAR, May 12: Residents of Taru Jaba staged protest against excessive loadshedding while they also demanded connections of natural gas in the area.
The demonstrators told TNN on Nowshera road that the local people paid their bills on time but that there was loadshedding for up to 20 hours daily.
They added that local people had submitted 14.5 million rupees for gas connections in the area, but that the government was not providing them gas connections.
One of the protesters told TNN, “We request PESCO chief Tariq Saddozai that because we are paying 100% electricity bills, we should not be subjected to extra power outages.”
Another resident said they had paid 14.5 million rupees for gas connections eight years ago, but that the facility was yet to be provided to them.
