CHITRAL, July 5: Residents in Orghoch Lusht area of Chitral district have vacated their houses after floodwater entered their dwellings.
TNN correspondent says that due to melting of snow from the mountains, the water level has increased in the river, and that it has also razed to ground the embankments along the river.
Due to floodwater, local residents have shifted to camps. The locals say the embankments had fallen down last year but that the government did not pay any attention to reconstruct them.
This year again, flood has affected many people. A local resident told TNN, “Floodwater has affected our houses; that is why, most people left their homes for their life safety.”
“The government didn’t provide any aid to flood-affected people last year. This year once again people were affected by flood but the government did not compensate us,” said another resident.
