power-PESCO

TANK, June 9: The Peshawar Electric Supply Company (PESCO) has cut off power connections of 10 villages of Tank district because they did not pay their bills.

The Executive Engineer of the department, Mr Saeed-ur-Rehman, said the villages of Murtaza, Garoki, Narsez, Kot Azam, Navey Abadi, Bahtiari, Makhjee, Ghazai and other nearby areas owed millions of rupees.

He added that many people had got illegal connections causing losses to the department.

However, a local resident told TNN, “There are two electricity meters at my home, one for my home and another one for my drawing room. I don’t owe any amount because I pay my electricity bills regularly. Also, I have paid regular bills but I have been facing low voltage problem.”
