Peshawar police have arrested a mosque cleric in Badaber for allegedly abusing two children and subsequently subjecting them to violence.
According to the police, the incident took place within the jurisdiction of the Telaband police station. A resident filed a complaint stating that the suspect, a native of the Kurram district, allegedly assaulted his 9-year-old daughter and 11-year-old nephew in a hujra near the mosque.

The complainant reported that the children were students of the cleric, who allegedly threatened them to remain silent about the ordeal.
Following the complaint, police apprehended the suspect and presented him in court, which sent him to jail on a one-day physical remand. Meanwhile, authorities are providing medical and psychological support to the affected children.
