Meanwhile, due to the escalating tensions between Pakistan and Afghanistan, the repatriation process of Afghan refugees through the Torkham border crossing in Khyber district has been temporarily suspended.

The district administration stated that movement has been halted following the deterioration in the border situation to prevent any potential threat.

Sources said that after firing by Afghan forces, dozens of vehicles carrying Afghan refugees present at the Torkham terminal were shifted to Landi Kotal as a precautionary measure to avoid any untoward incident.

The administration added that the situation is being closely monitored and a future course of action will be announced once conditions return to normal.
