Peshawar Takes Action Against Illegal Driving School Registrations by Police

The Director of Transport has instructed the relevant authorities to guide driving schools towards registration with the Transport Department and to take necessary measures against the issuance of illegal certificates.

Peshawar: In a significant move regarding private driving training schools, the Director of Transport has sent an official letter to all Deputy Commissioners in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, declaring the police-issued registration certificates for private driving schools as illegal.

The letter clarifies that the registration certificates issued by the police are not legally valid and that the authority to register these schools lies solely with the Transport Department. The Director of Transport has requested the Deputy Commissioners to take action against all private driving schools and ensure their registration under the Transport Department.

The letter further explains that the registration of driving schools at police stations has no legal basis, and only certificates issued by the Transport Department hold legal status. All driving schools must be registered under this department to operate lawfully.
