PESHAWAR: The Peshawar High Court (PHC) has stopped the administration of the Lady Reading Hospital (LHR) Peshawar from making any kind of appointments.
A two-member division bench of the PHC comprising Justice Muhammad Ibrahim and Justice Muhammad Ayub Khan issued the order while hearing a petition and suspended the advertisement No. 01/2019 for recruitments in the hospital.
A person Ziaullah had filed a petition in the court through his lawyer Mohibullah in which he said the hospital administration was making appointments on fix pay instead of regular appointments under the MTI Act, which is a violation of the Act. The petitioner said the advertisement for jobs is vague which has no details about the scales and vacant posts, which is illegal.
Mohibullah advocate raised 11 legal points in the petition and prayed the court to cancel the advertisement No. 01/2019. Under the advertisement, some doctors, charge nurses, nursing manager and clinical nursing teachers were to be appointed, and tests and interviews were also held by the hospital administration in this regard.
The court after hearing the arguments stopped the LRH administration from any kind of appointments and sought reply from director nursing, secretary health, human resource director and medical directors of the hospital.
If the hospital administration continued with tests and interviews for new appointments, then they will be liable for contempt of court proceedings.
Toy guns banned in Lower Dir
The district administration of Lower Dir has banned the sale and purchase of toy guns in the whole district under Section 144.
Deputy Commissioner Shaukat Ali Yousafzai issued the orders of banning toy guns on Friday. Under the instructions of the provincial government, food packages were also distributed among 700 inmates of Timergara Jail under the supervision of the deputy commissioner.
The orders of banning toy guns have also been issued in some other districts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. Enormous increase is witnessed in the sale and purchase of toy guns during Eid and such toys can be seen with children everywhere. The administrations of respective districts impose such bans, but there is no follow up due to which the ban is violated openly in all parts of the province and shopkeepers sale such toys without any fear.
