PESHAWAR, August 4: Pakistan International Airlines has announced to start Hajj flights from the last week of August.
As per notification, the PIA will take 65,000 intending pilgrims through 130 flights. The Saudi Airlines will also take 70,000 pilgrims from Karachi, Lahore, Islamabad and Peshawar to Jeddah airport in Saudi Arabia.
The PIA has notified that the return flights of the pilgrims will start from 10 October. This year 143,000 people will perform Hajj; 56000 people will perform Hajj under the government scheme and others will go through the private tour operators. This year the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia has reduced the number of pilgrims for all countries due to construction work in the Haram. In the past, 180,000 pilgrims used to go for Hajj from Pakistan each year.
