PESHAWAR, November 29: The Prime Minister, Mr Nawaz Sharif, has announced to reduce price of petrol by 9.66 rupees per litre and that of diesel by 7.12 rupees.
The prime minister made the announcement after inaugurating the Hazara Motorway Project in Havelian.
Addressing the inaugural ceremony, the premier said the construction of 60-kilometre motorway would facilitate the residents of Hazara division of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
He said the highway would traverse Abbottabad and Mansehra districts and ultimately reach Margalla hills in the federal capital Islamabad.
The prime minister also criticised the Pakistan Tehrik-e-Insaf (PTI) protests which, he said, had caused massive loss to the country’s economy.
The prime minister’s announcement regarding reduction in fuel prices and inauguration of Hazara Motorway Project come a day before the PTI’s protest rally, to be held in Islamabad on 30 November.
The PTI has been protesting in the country since 14 August, demanding the prime minister to resign and hold re-elections because its chief Mr Imran Khan has alleged rigging in the 2013 general elections.
