PESHAWAR, April 27: Unidentified gunmen shot dead a policeman and injured another in the provincial capital Peshawar last night.
The police said Mr Ziarat Gul and Mr Akhtar Ali of the police rider squad stopped in front of a hotel for meals when they were sprayed with bullets by unidentified motorcyclists.
Both of the policemen were taken to the Lady Reading Hospital where Mr Ziarat Gul succumbed to his injuries.
One killed in Landikotal blast: A volunteer of a peace Lashkar was killed in a bomb blast and three others injured in Landikotal tehsil of Khyber Agency.
Several peace Lashkars (militias) have been raised with the cooperation of government authorities against militants in FATA and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
Local residents said the volunteer of the Tauheed-ul-Islam militia was travelling from Bazaar Zakhakhel to Jamrud when the vehicle he was driving hit a roadside bomb.
