KHAR, May 24: The health department of Bajaur tribal region has opened a polio counter in Khar Tehsil Hospital to administer polio vaccines and issue certificates to those who wish to travel abroad.
The Bajaur Agency Surgeon, Dr Zakir Hussain, said the counter had started working for the last two days and that efforts were also being made to aware people about it.
He added, “Till now 14 people have been vaccinated for polio at this counter and World Health Organisation certificates also provided to them.”
Earlier this month, the WHO declared polio vaccination mandatory for Pakistanis travelling abroad.
