GHALLANAI, December 2: Supervisors and workers of polio teams have protested in Mohmand Agency because they say they have not been paid salaries for the last several months.

They said they would boycott the anti-polio vaccination campaign stating from 8 December.

During the protest in front of the Ghallanai Press Club, the demonstrators complained that they did not receive their salaries for past five months. They said they even continued with their vaccination campaigns amid the poor law and order situation in the tribal region but that they were still not being paid.

On the other hand, the FATA team leader of World Health Organisation (WHO), Mr Sarfaraz Khan, said that the government was responsible for giving the workers their salaries. He said he had been assigned the duty to provide technical support to health workers and monitor the vaccination process.
