Bilawal asks NA speaker to issue Ali Wazir production order

PESHAWAR: Chairperson Pakistan People Party (PPP) Bilawal Bhutto Zardari has said that despite his written request to the Assembly speaker to issue production order of Ali Wazir and Mohsin Dawar, no such order was issued.

Bilawal said that he has the proof of submitting the letter to the speaker Assembly, however, during proceedings, the speaker told the house that he has not received any such letter from any party.

Bilawal Bhutto said that under the law an MNA cannot be arrested without the prior approval of the speaker. He added that they have the right to appear in the assembly and explain the house about the actual situation that led to the North Waziristan Tragedy.

Earlier when the issue was raised on the floor of the National Assembly, Pakistan Tehrik-e-Insaf MNA Ali Muhammad Khan accused the PTM leadership to have anti-Pakistan motives. He said that they are playing in foreign hands to jeopardize the efforts made for the restoration of peace in the country.

The PTI MNA said that they never brought the Pakistan flag to their processions. Ali Muhammad asked the speaker that they shouldn’t be allowed to set in the national assembly and their membership should be cancelled. The MNA said that they’ve attacked a check post and will be treated under the law of the country.

Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz MNA Khuram Dastagir also raised the issued Tahir Dawar murder asking the government to explain the house about investigation carried out by the federal government. Dastagir asked the speaker to direct the government to share the findings of the investigation with the house.

While replaying to Khuram Dastagir, Ali Muhammad accused Afghanistan for the murder of SP Tahir Dawar, adding, his body was found in Afghanistan but when Pakistani ministers went to Torkham border to receive it, the Afghani side refused to hand it over to federal ministers and demanded that it will be provided only to PTM leadership.

On May 26, security forces clashed with protesters of Pakhtun Tahaffuz Movement in Khar Kamar area of Tehsil Data Khel in North Waziristan. MNAs Mohsin Dawar and Ali Wazir have already been arrested by the security forces. The ATC judge has remanded them into police custody for eights days.
