PESHAWAR: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Finance Minister Taimoor Saleem Jhagra and Member National Assembly Noor Alam Khan have come face-to-face on the social media over a dispute on development funds.
Member KP Assembly Taimoor Saleem Jhagra said on Twitter that his attention has been drawn towards a video of Noor Alam Khan in which he has used inappropriate language against him.
“A speech by PTI MNA @NOORALAMKHAN on social media was brought to my attention. My values & upbringing do not allow me to respond in the language used. But I think it important to highlight both what was said and to clarify a few things, since the accusations were personal,” he wrote on social media.
The minister said he is not afraid of any intimidation or threats and such dirty things shouldn’t happen in politics. He said he welcomes criticism, but that should be within the limits of decency. He said development funds never belong to an MPA or an MNA and he can never allocate or stop anyone’s funds.

MNA Noor Alam Khan in a video which went viral on the social media is strongly criticising his own party’s MPA. He said in the video that Taimoor Saleem Jhagra is not a popular politician and he was in another party previously. He alleged that Taimoor Jhagra is messing up with funds of his constituency. He said he will go to the village of the finance minister and deal with him there.
Taimoor Jhagra also shared video clips of Noor Alam Khan on his Twitter page in which he has used objectionable language against him.
The PTI activists from PK-70 also held a rally on Saturday to condemn the use of objectionable language by Noor Alam Khan. The party activists demanded the central party leadership to take action against the MNA, issue him a show-cause notice, and suspend his membership. The activists said both the lawmakers belong to the same party and the MNA should have thought twice before issuing such statements. They said the statement of Noor Alam Khan is a conspiracy to create divisions among the party activists and damage the party.
