PESHAWAR, August 26: The protests of Pakistan Tehrik-e-Insaf and Pakistan Awami Tehrik activists continue in the federal capital Islamabad and both parties have been demanding resignation of the Prime Minister, Mr Nawaz Sharif.
Addressing his supporters on 25 August, PAT chief Dr Tahirul Qadri gave two-day deadline to the premier to resign, otherwise the government would be responsible for any untoward incident.
Meanwhile, PTI leader Mr Shah Mehmood Qureshi told journalists that they had agreed over formation of a judicial commission to probe reports of rigging in elections and to present election reforms. However, he added that they would not show any flexibility in their demand of the premier’s resignation.
The ruling Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz has decided to respond to protests of PTI and PAT by holding Istehkam-e-Pakistan rallies (solidarity of Pakistan rallies) in Lahore, Rawalpindi, and Islamabad.
