Dr. Mahnoor, who was the victim of an acid attack in Quetta on Saturday, is currently under treatment at Aga Khan Hospital in Karachi. According to hospital sources, 13 percent of her body has been affected, including 7 to 8 percent with deep wounds. However, doctors say her overall condition is stable and improving.
Doctors further stated that although there are injuries around her eyes, her vision is completely safe. A team of plastic surgeons, eye specialists, and other experts has completed her detailed medical examination. She has now been shifted to a special care unit, where she will undergo another medical check-up after 24 hours.
On the other hand, Chief Minister Balochistan Sarfraz Bugti visited Dr. Mahnoor at Aga Khan Hospital Karachi yesterday. Later, while speaking to the media, he said that doctors have expressed satisfaction over her condition.
He also stated that if Dr. Mahnoor requires facial surgery abroad, the government will provide every possible support.
It is important to note that on June 6, 2026, Dr. Mahnoor was on her routine duty at the surgical ward of Sandeman Civil Hospital in Quetta when a lift operator at the hospital knocked on her room door. As soon as she opened the door, the attacker threw acid on her and fled.

Later, according to police, the accused, Humayun Shah, surrendered during a search operation but opened fire upon being ordered to surrender. He was then killed in retaliatory action by the police.
