Ramadan Expected to Have 29 Days, Possibility of 5 Eid Holidays

As usual, various forecasts regarding the sighting of the Shawwal moon have started circulating. The Ruet-e-Hilal Research Council has indicated that Eid-ul-Fitr may fall on March 31.

Astronomical experts have predicted that Ramadan this year will likely have 29 days, increasing the chances of five holidays for Eid-ul-Fitr.

As usual, various forecasts regarding the sighting of the Shawwal moon have started circulating. The Ruet-e-Hilal Research Council has indicated that Eid-ul-Fitr may fall on March 31.

Experts believe that the Shawwal moon will likely be visible on the evening of March 30 across most parts of Pakistan, as its age is expected to exceed 26 hours, meeting the visibility criteria.

If the moon is sighted on March 30, Eid will be observed from March 31 to April 2. However, if Ramadan is completed in 30 days, Eid will be celebrated from April 1 to April 4.

With Saturday and Sunday already being weekly holidays for some government employees, the expected Eid holidays could extend from March 29 to April 2. However, the official announcement regarding the Eid holidays is yet to be made.
