
PESHAWAR, June 29: People in most areas of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa started fasting on Sunday after the unofficial committee of Masjid Qasim Ali Khan declared Sunday as the first day of Ramadan.
Khateeb of Qasim Ali Khan Masjid, Mufti Shahabuddin Popalzai, announced at 11pm that they had received 54 confirmed reports of moon sighting from different areas
However, the central Ruet-e-Hilal committee said Ramadan would start from Monday. The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government also followed the decision of Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee and said Ramadan would start from Monday.
