In the budget for the next fiscal year, the government plans to impose additional taxes amounting to two trillion rupees. This decision is driven by conditions set by the International Monetary Fund (IMF).
To meet these requirements, the government will implement significant increases in GST, Income Tax, Additional Customs Duty, and Excise Duty. Consequently, the budget will aim for an annual tax collection target exceeding 10 percent of the GDP.
