DAGAR, August 21: Residents of Soora area in Mandherh tehsil, Buner district have been in trouble because electricity transformer in the area has been out of order for the last one month.
The residents told TNN that they had collected donation and submitted the money for repair of the transformer to the WAPDA authorities but that the officials were not solving the problem.
They said the village comprised of a population of about 10,000 people, who are also facing water shortage due to power breakdown and wandering here and there in search of drinking water.
“We handed the WAPDA officials money, but they are delaying the repair of the transformer on one pretext or the other. Elected lawmakers of the area refer us to one another. We appeal to the government to take solve our problem, otherwise we will launch protests.”
However, WAPDA officials say they have sent the transformer to the workshop, but due to workload there the transformer has not been repaired till now. They say that hopefully the issue would be resolved soon.
