TANK, June 16: Local residents, who came to the National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA) office to get their identity cards in Tank district, staged protest due to lack of facilities.
The demonstrators said they had come there from faraway areas to make their identity cards but there was no facility of clean drinking water and shade for them to save them from sunrays in the hot weather.
The protesters also alleged the Nadra administration issued more tokens to the candidates and at the end of the day they went back to their homes as the administration could not entertain them due to paucity of time.
Some of the protesters told TNN, “The weather is very hot and we are waiting while the NADRA officials have not arrived till now. We came here and have take tokens, now we are waiting in queues. But at the end of the day, the office closes and the officials say the remaining candidates must come again tomorrow. We travel in local transport and we arrive late the next day but then we are asked to take another token.”
