RTS Commissioner Urges Youth to Champion Public Service Rights

An awareness session under the Right to Public Services (RTS) Commission was held at the Department of Social Work, University of Peshawar, where RTS Commissioner Judge Muhammad Asim Imam briefed students and faculty members on the significance of the RTS Act.

During the session, Judge Imam delivered a comprehensive lecture on the Right to Public Services Act, notified public services, and citizens' rights. He explained how the law ensures affordable, timely, and transparent delivery of government services, playing a crucial role in addressing social injustice and restoring public trust.

Highlighting the importance of institutional transparency and accountability, he said the RTS Act helps prevent social unrest and contributes to peace and development in the province. He warned that neglecting justice and fairness in public affairs breeds violence and extremism, stressing that a strong enforcement of the RTS law is essential for sustainable progress.

Judge Imam urged students to raise awareness about the RTS Act in their communities and inform citizens about the available services under this law. He also presented badges to selected field workers and encouraged them to expand the outreach of the awareness campaign.

At the conclusion of the event, Chairman of the Social Work Department, Dr. Shakeel Ahmad, thanked the commissioner for his valuable insights and support.
