Security Forces Eliminate Five Militants in Intelligence-Based Operation in Lakki Marwat

According to ISPR, the operation was conducted following credible intelligence reports about the presence of militants in the area.

Lakki Marwat—In a significant counterterrorism operation, security forces successfully neutralized five militants and injured two others during an intelligence-based operation, the military's media wing, Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), confirmed on Tuesday.

According to ISPR, the operation was conducted following credible intelligence reports about the presence of militants in the area. 

Security forces launched a precise offensive, targeting the militants' hideout. As a result, five militants were killed, while two were critically wounded. The clearance operation in the area is still underway to ensure the complete eradication of any remaining threats.

ISPR reiterated the military's unwavering resolve to eliminate terrorism from the country. The statement emphasized that the security forces remain determined to rid Pakistan of the menace of terrorism through continued vigilance and operations.

Rising Violence in Lakki Marwat and Southern Districts

Lakki Marwat and the southern districts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa have witnessed a deteriorating security situation in recent months. Police and security personnel have frequently come under attack, with incidents occurring almost every other day.

The most recent attack in Lakki Marwat took place on November 30, when unidentified motorcycle-riding assailants opened fire in the Pahar Khel Paka area, killing Sub-Inspector Abdul Qadeer Marwat along with his father and son.

According to police sources, Sub-Inspector Abdul Qadeer Marwat was an officer with the Punjab Police, stationed in Faisalabad. He was home on leave when the attack occurred.
