BARA, September 22: Security forces in Khyber Agency have opened the Bara-Peshawar road, which had been closed due to a clash between militants and law enforcers at Alam Gudar village a week ago. The clash had left three militants and as many local tribesmen dead.
Administration officials say the main Bara-Peshawar road would be open for transport from 7am to 12pm and from 3pm to 6pm on a daily basis.
Local residents have welcomed the decision. A local tribesman to TNN, “We thank the government authorities to opening this route for us. As Eidul Azha is around the corner, people would have to visit markets in Peshawar and commute between Bara and the Peshawar city. The opening of this road would facilitate the masses much.”
