KOHAT, August 13: A one-day seminar was held about to the Right to Information Act in Kohat district.
Journalists, officials of social welfare organisations and people from other walks of life attended the seminar at the Kohat Press Club.
The provincial Right to Information Commissioner, Mr Kalimullah, said the law would bring a positive change in the lives of people. “Earlier people of this province did not have the right to access information regarding the government departments,” he added.
Participants of the seminar appreciated the law, saying various government departments would be held accountable through this law. “We really appreciate the Right to Information law as it can hold officials accountable for their actions,” said a participant.
The speakers asked the participants that the people must adopt this law to take part in the development of the country.
