GHALLANAI, May 8: The FATA Secretariat organised a seminar on education in Mohmand Agency.
Officials of the political administration, education department, students and their parents attended the event in agency headquarters Ghallanai.
Addressing the gathering, Mohmand Agency Political Agent Khushal Khan said more than 15,000 children were enrolled at schools in the agency during the enrolment campaign this year.
He said free textbooks were being distributed to students in the area.
Assistant Education Officer of the Education Department in Mohmand Agency, Mr Faiz Muhammad Khan, told TNN, “There are certain areas in the agency, like Anbar tehsil, where enrolment ratio of girls is low. In most of the other areas, we have same ratio of male and female students. Hopefully, the education rate in the agency will cross 70 percent in the next three years.”
