In Peshawar's Gulberg area, two brothers were shot and killed by unknown assailants, while a child who was with them survived the attack.

According to the police, Nasir and his brother Haji Saleem were riding a motorcycle when they were ambushed by unidentified gunmen at Liaquat Bazar Tube Well Chowk, within the jurisdiction of Gulberg police station, last night. The brothers were seriously injured and succumbed to their injuries while being transported to the hospital.

Nasir's younger son, Omar, who was also present, miraculously survived the attack. Omar informed the police that a week prior, his father and uncle had an altercation in Galozai, suggesting a possible motive for the attack.

However, the police stated that it was too early to confirm this connection. A case has been registered based on the relatives' report, and a comprehensive investigation has been launched to uncover the true motives and identify the culprits involved.

In another incident last night within the limits of Faqirabad police station, the Ababeel force opened fire on a moving vehicle, injuring four people, including women. The injured were returning home from the airport after performing Hajj. Initial reports indicate that the police signaled the vehicle to stop, but the driver attempted to run over the officers.

Suspecting the vehicle, the Ababeel squad fired at the tires, injuring the occupants. The injured are reported to be in stable condition. SP Faqirabad Division, Osama Amin Cheema, stated that two Ababil squad personnel involved in the shooting have been suspended, and an inquiry has been initiated.

In a separate incident near Peshawar Cantt Aman Chowk, a man riding in a rickshaw shot and killed a woman following a heated argument, before turning the gun on himself. The police identified the man as Gul Badin, son of Zarab Ali, and the woman as the daughter of Zar Amin. Both died on their way to the hospital.

According to the rickshaw driver, the argument escalated, leading to the tragic outcome. DSP Cantt Amjad Khan reported that the police have taken the bodies into custody for post-mortem examination.

These incidents mark the third case of shooting in Peshawar since last night, highlighting a troubling surge in violence in the city.
