A foreign member of the Tablighi Jamaat from South Africa tragically drowned while swimming in the CRBC Canal in Dera Ismail Khan, within the jurisdiction of Gomal University Police Station.
According to sources, the deceased had arrived in Pakistan on a one-year preaching mission and was currently residing in the Jumma Sharif area of DI Khan. Amid intense heat on Sunday, he went to the canal for a swim, but the strong current and deep water proved fatal.

Rescue 1122 teams promptly reached the site and launched a search operation. After considerable effort, the body was recovered from the canal by the rescue personnel.
Local sources and members of the Tablighi Jamaat confirmed the incident, adding that the deceased’s identity and further legal formalities are still underway.
