SWAT, March 8: The Special Police Force personnel are facing a host of problems due to nonpayment of salaries for the last three months.
TNN correspondent says that more than 6000 personnel have not been paid salaries and they say they have not even paid the fees of their children enrolled at schools and religious seminaries.
One of the Special Police Force personnel told the TNN, “This is the third month that we have not received salaries and we are facing problems, we cannot pay school fees of our children; even the shopkeeper is not giving me loan.”
When contacted, a spokesman for the deputy inspector general, Malakand division, said that the salaries have been stopped due to lack of funds and that these would be restored once the fund is released.
Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Pervez Khattak extended the job tenure of the special police and approved 5000 rupees raise in their salaries recently.
