PESHAWAR, May 30: Various sports competitions among the deaf and mute children came to an end under the supervision of OSAID, a non-government organisation.

A ceremony was held on the conclusion of the sports event, which continued for the last three months in Peshawar. Prizes were distributed among the players who performed well in the competitions.

The Finance Minister, Mr Ali Amin Gandapur, distributed medals and certificates among 100 students of different schools of the district.

TNN correspondent says that 529 students from schools of various districts participated in the competitions. The program manager of OSAID, Mr Liaqat Ali, told TNN, “These competitions were arranged for the special children, which included cricket, badminton, and football games. The main objective of the sports event is to provide healthy opportunities to the deaf and mute children. The Social Welfare Department also supported us in this event.”
