PESHAWAR, August 12: A social welfare organisation, Karwan Qaumi Jirga, has distributed sports kits among 35 players of the tribal areas and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa enrolled at the Islamia Cricket Club.
Office-bearers of the organisation, cricket players and members of the Islamia Cricket Club attended a ceremony at the Peshawar Press Club on 11 August.
The players who got the sports items appreciated the support of Karwan Qaumi Jirga.
“It’s a very good idea and support for poor people as many of us did not have sports shoes and other such items. Our players can perform better if provided facilities,” said one of the beneficiaries.
Another player said, “Nowadays people of North Waziristan are in trouble due to their displacement and we are very happy over this assistance from the welfare organisation.”
