
PESHAWAR, September 02: A court in Sri Lanka has allowed the government to deport Pakistani asylum seekers.
The Sri Lankan government had deported 88 Pakistanis since 1 August till 15 August. On appeal of a Pakistani woman, the court stopped the deportations on August 15.
However, the Sri Lankan government stated that the Pakistanis living there illegally were posing security and health risks and that they were involved in criminal activities while there were reports of transfer of Malaria virus to the country.
The court then issued verdict in favour of the government.
