
TIMERGARA, June 25: The Child Protection Unit, an organisaiton working for child rights, has distributed stationery and medicines among 42 underprivileged children in Lower Dir district.
The Assistant Commissioner, Mr Muhammad Ayaz Mohmand, distributed the kits including school uniforms, books, shoes, bags and other items among children at a ceremony at the office of deputy commissioner.
A disabled child was given a wheelchair. The organisation’s Social Welfare Officer of, Mr Rahatullah, told TNN that they had selected the schoolchildren after a scrutiny.
“This is an ongoing programme and we will distribute goods worth 30,000 rupees among deserving schoolchildren in various areas every month,” he added.
