Steps being taken to improve health facilities, says CM

PESHAWAR: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Mahmood Khan has said on Tuesday that leniency would be tolerated in performing duties in the government hospitals and ordered the removal of Director Health for tribal districts.

The CM said this during his surprise visit to District Headquarters Hospital Hospital in Landi Kotal and civil hospital Jamrud in Khyber district on Tuesday to observe health facilities and issues faced by the public in getting proper healthcare at the health facility.

On this occasion, the Chief Minister visited different wards and inquire about the facilities being provided to the patients. The Chief Minister expressed concern over the unavailability of hospitals staff and lack of proper health facilities and removed director health for tribal districts from his position with immediate effect.

The official sources informed the media that the director has been removed after the CM was informed that the mobile health unites provided to hospitals in Khyber District were remained standing at the health facilities for the last 12 years and are no useless.

Patients in both hospitals have informed the CM about their sufferings. In response, the CM assured them that all efforts are being made to provide the best health facilities in all the tribal districts.

“PTI led government is endeavouring to provide quality healthcare facilities to people of the province especially of merged tribal districts,” claimed the Chief Minister at the hospital in Landi Kotal. “Provision of quality healthcare facilities to people of tribal districts is the top priorities of the present government and efforts are being made to provide better health facilities to patients of erstwhile Fata at their doorsteps.”

The chief minister said doctors and technical staff were being recruited to overcome the shortage of staff in the hospitals in the merged area. He directed doctors and paramedics to provide best health facilities to patients.
