
BANNU, December 2: Bannu Police in a raid at the Gas Department office have recovered 3,000 litres stolen petrol.
On a tip off from secret agencies, police conducted a raid at a gas station in Kheshni Killi area in the jurisdictions of Saddar Police Station at a time when some officials of the Gas Department were preparing to hand over this stolen petrol to a person from Lakki Marwat who had purchased this petrol.
Local people told Tribal News Network that the gas officials were involved in this illegal practice since long. They said the gas officials used to block gas supply in the pipelines to steal petrol. They said the gas line to Bannu city was blocked for the last four days and the gas officials were extracting petrol from the pipelines.
The Bannu Gas Department have refused to offer any comment over the issue.
