WANA, October 2: After talks with the administration of South Waziristan tribal region, the students of Wana Postgraduate College have ended their protest.

Last week the students alleged the teachers and principal of the college had not been attending the college for the last several months while getting their salaries at home.

They had also alleged that the college principal had appointed his favourites on the vacant posts without even advertising the vacancies.

The administration officials said the Assistant Political Agent of Wana, Mr Shahid Ali, met the students on 1 October and assured them to investigate the allegations. He assured that corrupt people would be dismissed.

After the assurance of the assistant political agent, the students called off their protest and agreed on reopening of the college.
