England defeated Sri Lanka and qualified for semis in the ICC T20 World Cup match played in the Sydney on Saturday.

Batting first, Sri Lanka scored 142 runs which the English batters managed to achieve in last over at the loss of six wickets.

Following winning the match against Sri Lanka, English team qualified for semis, dashing hopes of host and defending champion Australia for making a berth among the last eight teams.

New Zealand tops the group A point table with seven points and has qualified for semis. On the other defending champion Australia has also seven points while England stands third with seven points; however, it qualified for semis due to better run rate.
