WANA, April 30: A Taliban commander and his four supporters were killed in a bomb blast in South Waziristan tribal region last night.
Officials, requesting anonymity, said Commander Amir Hamza and four others were going to Shaktoi area when the vehicle they were travelling in hit a roadside bomb.
The security forces later rushed to the blast scene and cordoned off the area.
Over 40 militants were killed in clashes between various groups of the Tehrik-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) in the tribal region along the Afghan border during the last two months.
According to Pakistani media reports, a major reason behind the TTP infighting was the ceasefire and dialogue process of the militants with the government as some groups were not in favour of the peace talks.
