The protesting school teachers chanted slogans against the education department and alleged that teachers deployed in tribal districts, who are performing their duties in the most difficult situation, aren’t being given any attention.

Teachers were gathered outside the district education office under the banner of All district teachers association. While talking with TNN, protesters said that the service structure has been provided to the teachers in tribal districts in 2018. However, they alleged, due to the non-seriousness of district education officer, Khyber, they are unable to get their service structure.

The protesters also accused the district education officer Jadoon Wazir of massive corruption in teachers training programs and asked the government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa to take its notice. The DEO was also accused that he is not taking any interest in providing books to students in the schools, due to which most the students are still deprived of books.

The teachers alleged the DEO is wasting the precious time of schools students by not providing them books on time. The protesters also accused that the district education officer is giving more importance to corrupt and lazy schools teachers while the highly educated, motivated and hardworking teachers have always been ignored by the DEO, the protesters alleged.

The protesting teachers have warned the Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Mehmood Khan and the minister for education to immediately resolve their issues. They also demanded the government to remove the current DEO of Khyber District. The protesters warned the government that if their issues were not resolved before Eidul Fiter, they will close schools and will extend protests to the whole district.
