
PESHAWAR: Pakistan People party Chairman, Bilawal Bhutto Zardari has once again raised the issue of jailed Members National Assembly – Ali Wazir and Mohsin Dawar – asking the Speaker to issue their production orders on Wednesday.
Bilawal, while addressing the on the floor of the national assembly, said that the parliament is a sovereign body and free from any outside influence. He said the speaker has the power and authority to issue the production order of both the MNAs so that they explain the house the real situation in their district.
Bilawal believes that they are the representatives of their people; therefore they should be allowed to come to the house and participate in the budget debate as per the democratic norms of the country.
“I request the speaker, the PTI members that it is the matter of supremacy of Parliament,” said Bilawal. He added that the speaker has always supported democracy in the country and expressed the hope that he will play his democratic role and will issue their production order with immediate effect.
The PPP Chairman stressed that their presence is very important in the house as it will take a message to the country that parliament is free and sovereign. Bilawal, while addressing the PTI members, you can slam allegations on someone but since he is the representative of the people, he will have the right to represent his people.
The PPP has been demanding for their production order since the first day of their arrests. The Federal Government has accused both the MNAs from North Waziristan – Mohsin Dawar and Ali Wazir – for luring the public to attack a check post on May 26 in Khar Kamar area of North Waziristan. After the tragedy both the MNAs were arrested under the Anti-Terrorism laws of the country. The ATC judge has sent to Peshawar central on judicial custody and ordered their reproduction before the court on July 9.
