MARDAN, September 20: The police have arrested three people for running a fake non-government organisation and swindling people in Mardan district.
The police say they received complaints about some persons taking money from public and claiming that they belonged to human rights organisations and intelligence agencies.
The police arrested the gangsters, two of whom belong to Punjab province and one hails from Mardan. The police also recovered fake identity cards, forms, fake stamps, banners and illegal phone SIMs from the possession of the accused.
The police have also started raids to arrest other accomplices of the arrested men.
