In the Shakardara area of Kohat, three laborers were killed when unidentified armed individuals opened fire during illegal gold mining activities.

The incident occurred in the forested area while the workers were engaged in gold extraction. Police and local residents immediately transferred the bodies to the hospital.

The Shakardara Police Station has launched a search for the suspects.

 Local residents stated that despite government bans on gold mining in Kohat, illegal operations continue, resulting in frequent incidents of violence and fatalities.

The Deputy Commissioner stated that Section 144 has been imposed in Kohat to prevent gold extraction and that it is the police’s responsibility to take action against illegal activities.

 According to the Kohat DPO, operations against such elements are being conducted daily to enforce the law.
