Security forces conducted a successful joint operation in the Dargai area of Malakand, killing three militants and arresting seven others, officials confirmed on Saturday.
As per media reports, the operation was carried out jointly by security forces and Levies personnel, with gunship helicopters providing aerial support. The militants are believed to be affiliated with the banned extremist group Khawarij. A significant cache of explosives and weapons was recovered from the site.
Deputy Commissioner Hamid ur Rehman said the operation was based on intelligence reports about militant movement in the area. He added that further security measures are underway to ensure long-term stability in the region.

Meanwhile, in a separate incident in Bannu, militants launched an attack on Bakka Khel police station using both light and heavy weapons. However, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa police successfully repelled the assault.
Police sources reported that the attackers fled after facing strong resistance from officers on duty. No casualties were reported on the security side, while a search operation is ongoing to track the fleeing assailants.
The twin developments come amid a recent surge in militant activity in parts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and adjoining areas, prompting increased vigilance by law enforcement and military units.
