Peshawar’s Phando Police have killed three highly wanted members of the Norey gang in an alleged police encounter during an operation at Akhun Baba Cemetery. According to police, the deceased suspects were wanted in several serious criminal cases.

Police said the suspects were also highly wanted in a case involving the killing of six people after indiscriminate firing at a vehicle at Jameel Chowk last year. The case, FIR No. 392, was registered on April 26, 2025, under Sections 302, 324, 427, 148 and 149 of the Pakistan Penal Code.

The suspects were also proclaimed offenders in another case registered on Phando Road. FIR No. 530 was registered on April 1, 2026, under Sections 302, 324 and 34 of the Pakistan Penal Code.

According to police, the proclaimed offenders were armed and present at Akhun Baba Cemetery to plan a serious criminal activity. They opened indiscriminate fire as soon as they saw the police team.

Police said that three proclaimed offenders were killed in the exchange of fire during the retaliatory action. The deceased were identified as Gran Wali, son of Sher Ali, and Ali Khan alias Sheena, son of Dawan Jan, both Afghan nationals, and Zabihullah, son of Qadeem Khan, a resident of Mohmand Beri Bagh.

Police also recovered one Kalashnikov and two pistols from the possession of the deceased suspects.

According to police, their criminal records are being further checked, while further investigation into the incident is underway.
