PESHAWAR: Police filed a terrorist attack by killing one terrorist and two suicide bombers exploded themselves in Loralai district of Balochistan on Wednesday.

A policeman was also martyred in exchange of fire. Security officials said terrorists tried to enter the Police Lines from its main gate where policemen killed on terrorist. Another terrorist entered the Police Lines and exploded himself while another bomber exploded his suicide vest at the main gate.

According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), one constable Allah Nawaz died in the incident, while two others were injured. The security forces cleared Loralai Police Compound after the operation.

District Police Officer (DPO) Loralai Jawad Tariq said preparation was underway for departmental examination when three terrorists attacked the Police Lines. He said the terrorist were trying to enter the Police Lines when police stopped them. The terrorists opened fire on police due to which police also retaliated and all the three terrorists were killed.

Due to alertness and timely action of police, the terror bid was foiled. Had the terrorists entered the Police Lines and reached their target, the losses might have been much heavier. The PDO praised the professional preparedness of police to avert such attacks.

2 policemen martyred, 4 injured in Nowshera firing

Two policemen lost their lives and four others, including a station house officer (SHO), sustained injuries in an attack by unknown miscreants on their mobile van in Nowshera on Tuesday.

District Police Officer (DPO) Mansoor Aman told media persons Deputy Superintendent Police (DSP) Akora Khattak Ihsan Shah and SHO Nizampur Masood Khan along with a police party were on patrol in Qamar Mela area when militants attacked their mobile vehicle. The DPO said police constables Asfandyar from Kheshgi Baba Jee Killi and Asad from Pabbi died in the firing, while SHO Masood Khan, his gunman Zainullah, Roaidad and Akif were injured.

The injured policemen were immediately shifted to District Headquarters Hospital Nowshera.

The funeral prayers of the martyred policemen were offered Nowshera Police Lines. Deputy Inspector General (DIG) Mardan Muhammad Ali Khan Gandapur, DPO Mansoor Aman, Deputy Commissioner Nowshera Shahid Ali Khan and other political leaders and social activists participated in the funeral prayers.
