Trade activities at the Pak-Afghan Torkham border have been suspended since last evening, with security on high alert. According to sources, Afghan forces remain adamant about carrying out construction in disputed territory, prompting objections from Pakistani security forces. The rising tensions have led to the closure of the Torkham Gate and the Pak-Afghan Dosti Hospital.
Due to the standoff, export vehicles stationed at Zero Point have been sent back, while Torkham customs clearing agents have vacated their offices. President of the Torkham Customs Clearing Agents Association, Haji Mujeeb Shinwari, advised all clearing agents to close their offices in light of the situation.

Authorities reported that along with trade disruptions, pedestrian movement across the border has been halted since this morning, resulting in an increased rush of stranded passengers. Pakistani officials have turned back civilians and travelers, while the area outside NADRA Immigration has also been cleared.
Travel and trade links between the two countries remain suspended, with negotiations between officials expected to address the situation.
